8 places to sit and 1 folding table in need of a headline
Who do you think sits here and what do you think they do all day?
(Seems like there's a story there...)
Best of the Etsy / Remodelista / West Elm Pop-Up Shop
You know who's smart? Etsy's smart. And so is West Elm and Remodelista. They all partnered to hold a "We Heart Handmade Art" pop-up shop in the West Elm store on 62nd Street and Broadway on Thursday night (and they've had them in other places and at other times, too--most recently in Austin during SXSW).
The marketing brain in me digs this idea--I think it's a great collaboration. Plus, it's a great excuse for me to hang out in a cute shop with free food and wine. Everybody wins.
Here are some of my favorites:
Canvas bags by Sidney & Sons
General Brooklyn goodness from Claudia Pearson
Handcrafted tableware by Clamlab.com
Gold pieces (some with a horoscope-y twist) by Julie Nolan Jewelry
Papergoods by Enormous Champion
Jewelry by Knock Knock Studio
Papergoods by Crowbiz
Food! FIKA espresso bar!

What are you waiting for?
If you take a look at the trees in this photo, you can probably guess one thing I'm waiting for: springtime.
We're stuck in what seems like an endless winter in NYC right now--to the point where it seems like we may have a kind of collective seasonal affective disorder. We're trapped in winter coats. We're bored with our cold-weather wardrobes. We're teased by a Daylight Saving Time that gives us an extra hour of sunshine, only it really just feels like a little additional time to be cold when we're outside walking to the store or heading back home from the subway.
My patience is growing thin. And I am FREEZING, ya'll. I need buds on trees! Birds chirping! Skirts on girls! Open windows and grills starting to glow!
I'm so ready. For lots of things, really. But for now, I'd just take a day with a thermometer that's hit 74 degrees, my giant black coat left at home in the closet, and cute shoes that show off an even cuter new pedicure.
So what are you waiting for?
