Apartment Therapy's "Small Spaces, NYC Style"

Hey, hey. Just back from a long weekend, and come to find out, my wee home was just featured in a fun roundup from Apartment Therapy called "Small Small Spaces, NYC Style: 10 Homes Under 600 Square Feet." Cool. Check it here

Makes me feel sweaty, stylish

It may be hot as Hades, but I, for some odd reason, have quilts on the brain. (I'm especially digging a few rad-ass ones from Kansas City's own Kim Eichler-Messmer.) Check out some of these beauts.

1.  Dayglo and Linen Queen Quilt, Carrie Strine

2. Blue Gradient Toddler Quilt, annilygreen at Etsy

3. Skyscape Quilt in Blue and Rust, kimem at Etsy

4. Paint Chip Quilt in Orange Number 2, kimem at Etsy

5. "Cobble Hill, Brooklyn" Readymade Soft-Map, Haptic Lab (my clear fave)

6. "Los Angeles: Santa Monica to Downtown" Readymade Soft-Map, Haptic Lab

This is what happens when a food truck grows up.

Big cartoon hearts fill my eyes every time I pass the Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream shop that has opened up near me on Bergen Street. I dig a story of a small idea--delicious artisan ice cream served from a truck--that gets a little bigger and a little more popular, resulting in the delicious artisan ice cream now being served in a couple bricks-and-mortar stores and in pints at a few local grocers.

The way Van Leeuwen has grown still feels true to its beginnings and what it stands for--just now, we don't have to race down a truck to grab some tastiness. Unless we want to.
